Absolutely pointless. Cut down to the 4 minute mark, this compilation reads more like "Now That's What I Call Production House!"

Check out the 20 best pre-00s deep house albums below. Where else could we possibly start? Larry Heard is the godfather of deep house. A good deep house track has the ability to fully envelop its listener and a minute into Moodymann's debut album, we're positively drowning in the best the genre has to offer. Released in 1997 on Planet E, the album is anything but a silent introduction, instantly throwing the listener into a world of murky keys, lo-fi breaks and ingenious sampling  . A chronically overlooked production duo, New Jersey's Blaze turned out this classy album with heavy gospel overtones back in 1997.

The 10 Best House Albums of the ’90s. House music has grown wide and tall in the three decades since it first took root in the after-hours clubs of Chicago. These days it is a global phenomenon with its own industry and countless distinct sub-cultures, sounds, and social movements branching off from the source.

So how do you define acid house ? So much has been written about it. For the sake of this list I’m using an arbitrary definition of house music with acid in it. Acid: it’s the sound made by a Roland TB-303. Zillions of articles and compilation sleevenotes have held forth on the history of the little silver box designed in Japan by Tadao Kikumoto which accidentally spawned a whole genre of music. Even though nearly all the best records were made in Chicago, the music took off in a big way over here, it was massively popular, much imitated, loved by clubbers and ravers and misunderstood by the media. Lots of Chicago tracks were only released over here. In one box were copies of the Jack Trax compilation album Acid House and in the other, the Westside double LP We Call It Hallucinates. I snapped them up, took them home and got submerged in the sounds of Phuture, Armando, Liddell Townsell and the rest.

One thing that the fourth volume in Profile's Best of House Music series can hardly be called is a carbon copy of its predecessor.

Talk about Various - The Best Of Production House

Androlhala
This compilation was more to do with Low Price Music than Production House. And that may be why Production House did their own compilation in 97.

Absolutely pointless. What's the point in having a compilation of the best tracks from one of the best labels if they're nearly all edited / fade out?Who was this aimed at? Fair enough, CDJ technology was still in its infancy around '93 but even if you didn't want to DJ with the tracks, they still held absolute interest across their 6-7 minute 12" durations.Cut down to the 4 minute mark, this compilation reads more like "Now That's What I Call Production House!".Why on earth not spread the tracks across 2 discs? Even keeping the compilation 1 disc only and ditching half of the material would have been better than this.Honestly, it's the kind of thing you'd expect from a promotional copy to be played in shops before the release of a proper album.Ignore, and check out this instead:http://www.discogs.com/release/155465
