The Pearl Jam "Official" Bootlegs are a large, continually growing series of live albums by the American alternative rock band Pearl Jam. Pearl Jam noted the desire of fans to own a copy of the shows they attended and the popularity of bootleg recordings. The band had been open in the past about allowing fans to make amateur recordings, and these "official bootlegs" were an attempt to provide a more affordable and better quality product for fans.

Pearl Jam (sometimes referred to as The Avocado Album or simply Avocado) is the eighth studio album by American alternative rock band Pearl Jam, released on May 2, 2006 on J Records. It was Pearl Jam's first and only release for J Records, their last album issued by Sony Music. It was the band's first full-length studio release in almost four years, since Riot Act (2002)

Pearl Jam’s last album, Lightning Bolt, was released in 2013. Beyond recording and touring, however, Ament said it’s unlikely Pearl Jam will do anything on the scale of PJ20 to mark their 25th anniversary. He explained, I think largely because PJ20 really does almost feel like it was last year. That’s how fast time goes at this point. Going out and playing shows, having people show up, having our fans be so great and so engaged in the shows-all the shows that we play feel like celebrations.

The shows compiled on Live at the Gorge 05/06 are typical for Pearl Jam in the sense that they're high-energy, wide-ranging in material, and long, with the band jamming out many songs to the seven- or eight-minute mark. As usual, vocalist Eddie Vedder is in full command of the crowd, engaging them often with between-song banter and infusing the performances with the charisma for which he's well-known. The abundance of live Pearl Jam albums released over the years makes Live at the Gorge 05/06 less than novel.

Pearl Jam have confirmed a North American tour running from the spring through the summer. The first leg of the tour kicks off in April in Fort Lauderdale, Florida and includes an appearance at the New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival that month and two dates at New York City’s Madison Square Garden in May. The group will also appear at Bonnaroo in June and, in August, perform two-night stands in Boston and Chicago.

New Orleans jazz is played by heart and ear. You fake some good old tunes and improvise on the melodies and the chords they are built on. Most of the tunes are forgotten a long time ago, nobody ask for them, nobody should play them, and today they should have been almost useless if it hadn't been for a few persons and bands who love early jazz and try keeping this old music alive.
