Frederick James 'Freddy' Randall (6 May 1921 – 18 May 1999) was an English jazz trumpeter and bandleader born in Clapton, East London. Randall led the St. Louis Four in 1939, and played as a freelance sideman in the early 1940s. He served in the military during World War II, then played with Freddy Mirfield in a group featuring Johnny Dankworth

At the Jazz Band Ball 11. Sunday 12. My Tiny Band Is Chosen 13. Hindustan 14. Memphis Blues 1. At that stage his only serious rival was Freddy Randall who also joined the Parlophone ranks in 1951. Lyttelton's band was stylistically evolving, but Randall chose to base his band in the Chicago style of Eddie Condon, Wild Bill Davison and their cohorts. It was driving, foot-stomping stuff led by Randall's fiery trumpet playing. For seven years the band recorded some excellent tracks for Parlophone and they are restored and presented here.
