Greatest Hits is a compilation album by the British rock band Queen, released worldwide on 26 October 1981. The album consisted of Queen's biggest hits since their first chart appearance in 1974 with "Seven Seas of Rhye", up to their 1980 hit "Flash" (though in some countries "Under Pressure", the band's 1981 chart-topper with David Bowie, was included).
Greatest Hits III is a compilation album by British rock band Queen. It was released on 8 November 1999. The first two tracks on the album were new previously unreleased versions of classic Queen songs. Unless otherwise indicated, Information is based on the album's Liner Notes. Queen's Greatest Hits was a great album, upon release, and for many years thereafter. Once the CD "revolution" occurred, though, it became a passable hits collection, with some, frankly, strange choices, regarding sequencing, inclusion, and subtraction. Fortunately, the audio seems nearly unchanged; there may be some remastering, but it hasn't made much difference, because their studio albums were so immaculate, in the first place. Actually, in '18, they're probably the most overexposed, hyped band in history, and I'm writing this years after having collected every single album they ever did.
The Ultimate Queen site, featuring album details, videos and DVD's, song lyrics and versions, demos, unreleased songs, discographies, galleries and concerts. This album contains 15 of the 20 singles released in the UK between 1973 and 1981. The tracks not included on the UK version, but all included on various overseas variations, are as follows: Keep Yourself Alive (did not chart, July 1973) Tie Your Mother Down ( Mach 1977) Spread Your Wings ( February 1978) Love Of My Life (live) ( June 1979) Under Pressure ( October 1981) (although 'Under Pressure' was only released a week before the album, so it's omission is unsurprising)

Queen were one of the most popular bands of the Seventies and Eighties worldwide - they were massive in the US until Hot Space, and huge in the UK, Europe, Japan, and many other countries throughout their entire career - in fact their last 5 albums each sold even more in the UK than their Seventies classics.

Greatest Hits II was released less than a month before the death of lead singer Freddie Mercury and was the last Queen release of any kind while he was still alive.
