The Shadows of Knight are an American rock band from the Chicago suburbs, formed in the 1960s, who play a form of British blues mixed with influences from their native city. At the time they first started recording, the band's self-description was as follows: "The Stones, Animals and the Yardbirds took the Chicago blues and gave it an English interpretation.

The Shadows of Knight are primarily known for the garage classic "Gloria", but this album illustrates quite well why they were considered for a time the 'american Rolling Stones' as the band rocked old blues numbers with tight arrangements and blistering lead guitar(s). Their "Oh Yeah" reinvents the old Bo Diddley classic, and "Light Bulb Blues" is IMHO a better rocker than. The band’s 1966 debut album Gloria rocks feverishly, proving that English teens weren’t the only ones dressing up in hip mod fashions and grooving to maximum R&B.
