Laverne & Shirley (originally Laverne DeFazio & Shirley Feeney) is an American television sitcom that played for eight seasons on ABC from January 27, 1976, to May 10, 1983. A spin-off of Happy Days, Laverne & Shirley followed the lives of Laverne DeFazio (Penny Marshall) and Shirley Feeney (Cindy Williams), two friends and roommates who work as bottle-cappers in the fictitious Shotz Brewery in late 1950s Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

Shirley Mae Goodman (June 19, 1936 – July 5, 2005) was an American R&B singer, best known as one half of Shirley and Lee, a 1950s duo. Later in her career, she had a resurgence with the disco hit "Shame, Shame, Shame" in the 1970s. Goodman was born in New Orleans. After singing in church choirs, she recorded her first demo with a group of friends in 1950.

Though Dr. Shirley did hire Vallelonga as a driver and bodyguard during one of Dr. Shirley’s concert tours in the south, much of the rest of the movie’s plot (co-written by Vallelonga’s son Nick Vallelonga) is disputed by more family members of Dr. Shirley than just Edwin-none of whom were consulted or even contacted at any point during. Never mind that Dr. Shirley was active in the civil rights movement, friends with Dr. King, present for the march in Selma, and close friends with Black musicians-from Nina Simone to Duke Ellington and Sarah Vaughn-Dr. Shirley was also very much a part of his family’s lives.

Don Shirley's family dismayed by 'Green Book' Oscar wins, calls portrait of pianist false. They say the filmmakers never consulted them, and they deplore what they say is the film's inaccurate depiction of pianist Don Shirley. As he accepted the best picture Oscar, "Green Book" director Peter Farrelly said the film that featured Mahershala Ali as Shirley and Viggo Mortensen as Vallelonga was about love at a time when race, class and prejudice divided much of the country. But there is no love for Vallelonga from members of the Shirley family, who say they and their potential contributions to the film were shut out. When Ali won the supporting actor Oscar, Shirley's family was on Skype.

Shirley Fenette (シャーリー・フェネット, Shārī Fenetto), 17 years old (18 at R2), was a student at Ashford Academy. She is voiced by Fumiko Orikasa (Japanese) and by Amy Kincaid (English). Shirley has long, bright orange hair. A noticeable trait of her hair is two small strands on both sides are tied together in a ponytail, which are sometimes made larger or disappear all together

This version can be expected to be released with some delay to the intial version, so most likely in 1973. The initial version denotes "Liberty/UA GmbH" instead.

Don Shirley and Tony Lip. Although some narrative liberties were taken with the Green Book script – including the decision to condense Shirley's year-plus tour into two months – the central story of the protagonists' professional and personal relationship is largely accurate  . Despite his training, Shirley in his 20s was dissuaded from pursuing a career as a classical pianist by impresario Sol Hurok, who said the country wasn't ready to accept a black man in that arena.

Photograph: Domino Records. The most immediately shocking thing about Shirley Collins’ seventh album is that it exists at all. Collins may be one of the folk revival’s most revered song collectors and vocalists, but for more than 30 years she was famous for not singing at all. She last released a new album in 1978, by which point her voice was already, she claimed, letting her down in the wake of a messy split from her husband, fellow musician Ashley Hutchings. Said to the lord to his lady, I am now going out, sings Collins to an accompaniment of acoustic guitar and birdsong recorded in her back garden, and immediately you think: uh-oh. Two minutes later, your worst suspicions are confirmed: There was blood in the kitchen, there was blood in the hall, There was blood in the parlour where the lady did fall.
