Complete your KMD collection. sounds awful the bass has been pushed way to high the vocals are not pushed up or cleaned very much, pic disk first side sounds like a hovercraft taking off making garbage day and get u now sound dull, although this looks amazing the packaging is great, the second side of the pic disk is the best sounding side, the bass sounds great.
Employing ideals and samples from the album The Blue Guerilla by Kain of the Last Poets, the tone of this record was to be dramatically different than their first, which was lighthearted and playful while still spreading a message about racial stereotypes. Volatile yet poignant tracks like "What a Nigga Know" and "Black Bastards!" are hip-hop fireballs.
KMD – Bl ck B st rds. Label: Readyrock Records – RR 2001. Format: 2 Vinyl, LP, Album. Country: US. Released: 2000. This album was released as a bootleg in the early nineties, the album cover stopped it from getting released as kmd refused to change it. It is one of the greatest hip hop albums of all time. Bl ck B st rds features some of the most controversial album art the conscious hip-hop scene ever released. The art depicts a Negro cartoon character being hanged from the gallows, like in a game of hangman, beneath him are the words Black Bastards (missing the A’s). The cartoon was the fuel that forced Elektra to drop the group from its roster, despite whatever talent the actual record displayed. The style has influenced more underground rappers today than almost any one else. Each member brings a new flavor into the collective, be it Onyx’s rhymes, Zev’s flow or Subroc’s extensive collection of samples and rhythms. Bl ck B st rds is as much a fitting end to one life as it is the beginning of another. If Operation Doomsday is the Fellowship of the Rings, then Bastards is undoubtedly hip hop’s Hobbit.
Bl ck B st rds Vinyl. I recommed this album to those who want to hear more examples of Doom's early 90's production, the way MF Doom sounded in 1993/1994, or just curious of the lost album.

Bl-ck B-st-rds uses the 1970 spoken-word album Blue Guerrilla by Gylan Kain as a major reference point. It's demonstrated in at least two songs, including 'What A Nigga Know' and 'Get U Now'. Opening track 'Garbage Day is a mash-up of television samples – a glimpse perhaps of MF Doom's love of skits and sampling, a style, which would later become more prominent. There's also a generous portion of jazz and R&B throughout.
