Carter, Gillespie Inc. (re-released on CD as Benny Carter, Dizzy Gillespie In. is an album by saxophonist Benny Carter and trumpeter Dizzy Gillespie recorded in 1976 and released on the Pablo label.

Although they were from different musical generations (Benny Carter was born ten years before Dizzy Gillespie), it is little wonder that the swing altoist and the bop trumpeter could match up so well on this sextet session; they were quite compatible. Surprisingly, the material they chose to perform could have been better (there is only one Carter composition among the six songs) but on "Broadway" and "A Night in Tunisia," the two veteran hornmen (along with pianist Tommy Flanagan and guitarist Joe Pass) sound at their best.

Benny Carter visited Australia in 1960 with his own quartet, performed at the 1968 Newport Jazz Festival with Dizzy Gillespie, and recorded with a Scandinavian band in Switzerland the same year. His studio work in the 1960s included arranging and sometimes performing on Peggy Lee's Mink Jazz, (1962) and on the single "I'm A Woman" in the same year.

Dizzy Gillespie wrote his classic "A Night in Tunisia" in 1942 when he was working with Benny Carter. Thirty-four years later the two recorded it together for this album and gave it one of its most luminous performances. In this encounter, Carter, at 70, and Gillespie, at 60, were inspired to some of the best playing of what might be described as their later years if it weren't for the fact that, at this writing, both were going strong into the 1990s
