Infatuation" is a 1984 hit song by Rod Stewart. It was written by Stewart, and features guitar playing by Jeff Beck, who makes a cameo in the video. When released as a single, it had two different B-sides. The first B-side was "She Won't Dance With Me", which is from his 1980 album Foolish Behaviour while the second B-side, "Three Time Loser", is from his 1975 album Atlantic Crossing.

Camouflage (Rod Stewart album). Camouflage is a studio album released by Rod Stewart on 18 June 1984 (see 1984 in music). It was Stewart's 13th studio album and was released on Warner Bros. Records (WEA 925 095-1). Three singles came from this album. They were "Infatuation", "Some Guys Have All the Luck", and a cover of the Free hit "All Right Now".

Early in the morning I can't sleep I can't work and I can't eat I've been drunk all day, can't concentrate Maybe I'm making a big mistake. Caught me down like a killer shark It's like a railroad running right through my heart Jekyll and Hyde the way I behave Feel like I'm running on an empty gauge. Oh no not again It hurts so good I don't understand Infatuation Infatuation Infatuation Infatuation

The task of completing the album fell to Michael Omartian, who was assigned as producer. This song has a drum machine and keyboard feel that was very popular in 1984, but also a very crisp horn section that included Jerry Hey and Chuck Findley. Stewart's longtime mate Jeff Beck added guitar. The video, directed by Jonathan Kaplan, shows Stewart in full-on stalker mode, using binoculars to spy on his infatuation. The leading lady is Kay Lenz, who was in the film American Graffiti and appeared on a number of TV shows, including The Fall Guy and MacGyver. She was married to David Cassidy in the late '70s and early '80s.

Infatuation - infatuation - infatuation. Heart beats heavy like a big bass drum Losing all equilibrium. Gets so hard in the middle of the week Maybe this woman's just all I need. O no Not again It hurts so good I don't understand - infatuation. Spirits soar when I'm by her side She put a little love in this heart of mine. Maybe I'm lucky Maybe I'm freed Maybe this woman's just all I need. O no Not again It hurts so good I understand - infatuation. Infatuation - infatuation - infatuation . .
