Kim Barlow is a Canadian folk singer and musician. Born in Montreal, Quebec on March 10, 1969, and raised in rural Nova Scotia, she studied classical guitar at Florida State University before moving to the Yukon in the 1990s. In 2013 she left the Yukon so she could move back to Nova Scotia. Kim Barlow has released on the independent record label Caribou Records in Whitehorse, Yukon and on Jericho Beach Music in Vancouver

Kim Barlow is one of Canada's most interesting folk acts. With such instrumental setups, her background as a classically trained musician, a lot of sparkling ideas, her characteristic voice, and lyrics well worth listening to, she manages to push the term folk music to new extremes  . In the summer of 1999, she released her first album, Humminah, which was quite a striking debut for a part-time musician and made her well-known as a non-conformist folk singer at extremes from a land of extremes.

Kim Barlow has released three albums on the independent record label Caribou Records (Yukon) in Whitehorse and one on Jericho Beach Music out of Vancouver She has toured across Canada and internationally, both as a solo artist and as part of the collaborative Pan Canadian New Folk Ensemble tour with Christine Fellows and Old Man Luedecke  .
