Raise Your Head (A Retrospective). The album kicks of with a Rusby vocal number, & Widow', a fantastic folk song and one of the best that Kate has ever recorded in my opinion. Contrast this with the more mainstream radio friendly sounds of & built fires' which has received heavy airplay and been used on tv. This sums up the band perfectly; there is a stack of talent on display and they really can turn their hand successfully to almost anything.

The Poozies are a British all-female traditional folk band formed in 1990. They were at the forefront of a wave that revolutionised traditional Scottish and Gaelic music in the 1990s. Throughout the years they have toured worldwide, attracting recognition and appreciation for their eclectic choice of material, unusual and exciting arrangements, and notable vocal harmonies. Kate Rusby joined the band as lead vocalist, and this lineup released one EP, Come Raise Your Head (1997), and a full-length album, Infinite Blue (1998) In 2000 the band released Raise Your Head: A Retrospective to celebrate ten years of The Poozies, and in 2003 released Changed Days Same Roots.
