Hector Nicol (1920 – 2 July 1985) was a Scottish comedian, singer and actor. Nicol starred in few shows during his career. His most notable role was that of a dying gangster in the BBC Television play Just a Boys' Game (1979) and also in A Sense of Freedom (1979). He also starred in Take the High Road, a Scottish soap opera. Nicol wrote and sang "The Hearts Song" for Hearts, and "Glory, Glory to the Hibees" for Hibs

Hector Nicol, Writer: The Stanley Baxter Show. Hector Nichol was a Paisley comedian, actor and singer. He recorded football songs for Heart of Midlothian, Hibernian, Dundee United and Dundee, but his other lasting legacy, as well as a spate of video releases of his stand up routines, is in a very different vein. In 1979 he took on the role of a dying gangster in the shocking Peter McDougall.
