The Andy Williams Christmas Album is the first Christmas holiday album released by singer Andy Williams and his twelfth studio album overall. It was issued by Columbia Records in 1963, and it would prove to be the first of eight Christmas albums released by Williams. Though it was also the album that introduced Williams' perennial holiday classic "It's the Most Wonderful Time of the Year", Columbia instead opted to release Williams' cover of "White Christmas" as the album's promotional single at the time.

Roger Williams was a political and religious leader best remembered for his strong stance on the separation of church and state and founding the colony of Rhode Island. Roger Williams was born in London, circa 1603, during a period of intense religious intolerance. But Roger Williams lived to see Providence rebuilt, and while he continued to preach he saw the Rhode Island colony grow and prosper. Williams died in the early months of 1683, almost completely unnoticed by the local people. He was buried on his property and his farm turned to decay.

Williams sings classic Christmas songs on this album, from Silent Night, Holy Night, and Away In A Manger, to Kay Thompson’s Jingle Bells, and The Christmas Song, all packaged in engaging arrangements. I highly recommend this album. I bought this during this past Christmas season. I remember watching and enjoying his variety show when I was a kid and I'm glad I bought this, if only for nostalgic reasons. One person found this helpful.
