Francis-Bruce aspired to be a cinematographer like his father, Jack Bruce, who worked for Hollywood players like Cecil B. DeMille and the Famous Lansky Players.

Richard Russell (born March 18, 1971) is an English record producer and the owner of British record label XL Recordings. XL Recordings was founded in 1989 by Tim Palmer & Nick Hawkes to release dance music. Richard Russell joined XL as an A+R scout in 1991. In 1992, Russell released a single titled "The Bouncer" as part of a duo named Kicks Like a Mule.

After leaving school, Richard joined the ABC in Sydney with hopes of emulating his father, Jack Bruce, who worked as a cinematographer in Hollywood for Cecil B. De Mille and the Famous Lansky Players. He fell in love with the craft and spent 15 years with the ABC working on various current. This album is a collection of collaborations by Richard Francis & Bruce Russell in different modes. Three parts of "Garage" are their showcase of mail music exchange recorded in Lyttleton and Auckland 2007-2009, the "Undead" piece is the juxtaposition of two solo sets recorded separately 27 February 2009 at The Physics Room, Christchurch, and "Live" is a collaborative set recorded during a concert at The Physics Room, Christchurch on the same date.
