Judy's Carnegie Hall triumph is all the more miraculous when one considers the shaky months that proceeded it. In late 1959, Judy became deathly ill and was hospitalized for several months. Doctors told her she would never work again, and she would remain a semi-invalid for the rest of her life. By the middle of 1960, a remarkably revitalized Judy embarked on an extensive concert tour in Europe and America.
