A Different Light is the second full-length album by Sherwood, and it continues the band's musical style. The album contains several re-recorded versions of tracks off their Summer EP (2006), as well as new tracks that help the band drift into new musical territory. The song "The Best in Me" was used as the opening song for MTV's show College Life.

The Bangles' first album, All Over the Place, may have earned them a smattering of radio and MTV airplay, but it's clear that with Different Light they were aiming for much higher stakes, especially when Prince - who was reportedly infatuated with Susanna Hoffs - offered to write a song for them

Different Light is the second studio album by the American pop rock band The Bangles, released in January 1986. It is their best-known album, with four charting singles (five in the UK) including a Top 5 hit and a number one. The album's Top 40 sound was a departure from their earlier 1960s-style rock'n'roll sound. It is the first album in which bassist Michael Steele sings lead vocals on some tracks.
