A Tribe Called Quest really has to be one of the greatest groups of all time. The fact that their first three albums where all equal classics is just amazing, not just for hip-hop but for any genre. If you enjoy Tribe Called Quest at all, you're wasting your time by ignoring this album Rhythm" may be an original classic in hip-hop, there's no real way to measure the amount of replay time this album has and how it only makes a perfect album that much better. 5 people found this helpful.

A Tribe Called Quest's seminal debut is an album that's largely focused outside of itself and its creators. There are three added cuts for this reissue-remixes by Pharrell, J. Cole, and CeeLo-that are passable and melodic but unneeded. Tribe's music needs no updating, even when it sticks out like a sore thumb, because that's exactly what it did in 1990. But were they released today they'd seem right on time, while being out of place-because all these many years later People's Instinctive Travels and the Paths of Rhythm is more than a nostalgia artifact. It's a worthy listen, not because of what it was, but because of what it is.
First off, its colorful, childlike artwork got upgraded to a sturdy silver hologram for releases on both CD and double-LP. The overall sound gets an upgrade from Bob Power, the engineer who helped Tribe achieve the highs in their beats and rhymes, and the lows in their theories
