Whinshields Hornpipe polka. Also known as Whinshield’s Hornpipe. Whinshields Hornpipe has been added to 2 tune sets. No reason though why it couldn’t be tweaked up into a 4/4 hornpipe if desired. Each part is down in the book as being played once only, though obviously each can be played twice if so wished, or needed in a dance set. It’s a fairly easy, quite catchy tune.

The polka is originally a Czech dance and genre of dance music familiar throughout Europe and the Americas. It originated in the middle of the 19th century in Bohemia, now part of the Czech Republic.
