La Cigale (English: The Cicada) is a theater at 120, boulevard de Rochechouart near Place Pigalle, in the 18th arrondissement of Paris. The theatre is part of a complex that is connected to Le Trabendo and the Boule Noire. The hall can accommodate 1389 people (for concerts where the audience is standing) or 954 people (for shows with entire audience seated). The floor of the orchestra has a scalable platform that can tilt and rise through a system of hydraulics.

RoBERT's popularity began to peak with her third album, Celle Qui Tue (2002), which was followed by the compilation album Unutma (N'Oublie Pas) (2004), and the live album Robert Live à la Cigale (2005).

Could it use some upgrades yes. But, none of this takes away the great experience of a concert at La Cigale. There aren't too many bad places to sit/stand. The general admission area gets pretty crowded, but what concert doesn't.

LA CIGALE (The Cicada) first opened its doors in Pigalle, Paris, in 1887. It began as a cafe-concert venue but very soon it began to feature comedy, dance and music in its repertoire. In 1894, it was renovated and expanded by the architect Henri Grandpierre, with a new ceiling painted by Adolphe Léon Willette. At this time LA CIGALE hosted shows by distinguished artists such as Mistinguett, Maurice Chevalier and Arletty. Operettas and vaudevilles followed until 1927 when La Cigale closed its doors, for its longest winter ever.
