The Best of James Taylor is the fourth compilation album by American singer-songwriter James Taylor. The album, a greatest hits collection, was released by Warner Bros. Records in April 2003. The same album was released in Europe as You've Got a Friend: The Best of James Taylor. The record is a Warner Bros.

The first five-star album of 2019! Proof that James Blake is one of the world’s greatest producers, this loved-up fourth record, featuring Andre 3000 and Travis Scott, sees him finally in control as a brilliant songwriter and emotive lyricist.

This Etta James discography is ranked from best to worst, so the top Etta James albums can be found at the top of the list. To make it easy for you, we haven't included Etta James singles, EPs, or compilations, so everything you see here should only be studio albums.

And James Brown’s funk wouldn’t happen without the world-class musicians in the . Sex Machine is one of the best examples of the group’s power laid to tape. The pseudo-live album (many of the tracks are studio recordings with reverb effects laid of the top) is a document of the overwhelming power of a band that contains Maceo Parker, Clyde Stubblefield, The Collinses and Bobby Byrd. Real heads are sweating just reading that sentence and they live up to their legendary stature here with extended jams on classics like the title cut and Give It Up or Turnit a Loose. The seven-minute proto-funk cut from the album of the same name had the same impact that Prince’s When Doves Cry would decades later. Cold Sweat comes loaded down with the sound of thousands of musicians saying Oh, I didn’t know you could do that.

For the James Bond enthusiast spirit in many of us I suppose it is still better than nothing at all for the 50th Anniversary. The Laser Beam" from GOLDFINGER, "Switching The Body" from THUNDERBALL, "Snow Job" from A VIEW TO A KILL and "Vesper" from CASINO ROYALE are excellent cuts. However, this collection remains a curiosity piece and perfunctory at best. The album is only missing the theme songs from the two newest Bond films: Skyfall and Spectre, which can be easily purchased individually. I would highly recommend this album for any die hard Bond fans out there.

James Brown is ranked number 305 in the overall artist rankings with a total rank score of 9,293. Members who like this artist also like: The Beatles, Bob Dylan and The Beach Boys.
