All the songs from Alpha Jerk and the 1977-78 singles, plus six live tracks (all but one of those from their first ever live show in San Francisco in July 1977) and a couple of 1980 cuts intended for a single that was never issued. This updates both garage/psychedelic and glam-rock (Reed, Bowie) sensibilities into the new wave era, although the songs are more frivolous and derivative than those of their influences. Lou Reed fans looking for some of his more off-the-wall descendants - and, for that matter, fans of more renowned off-the-wall descendants of the Reed train, such as Peter Perrett.

The first, Aliens in Our Midst: Complete Recordings 1977–1980 was released as a CD in the United States in 1998, and in Japan in 2000. A second compilation, Cartoon Land, was released on clear vinyl in 2002  . The band's first single, "Aliens in Our Midst", has had a continuing critical impact for over 30 years: British music journalist Jon Savage described "Aliens in Our Midst", in the 1992 book England's Dreaming: Anarchy, Sex Pistols, Punk Rock, and Beyond, as "peerless garage/psych with a rare gay twist.

The album was released anyway, and the Twinkeyz cut a following single, but they were done by 1980. Marquez opted to focus on his visual arts pursuits in subsequent years.
