Still Got the Blues is the eighth solo studio album by Northern Irish guitarist Gary Moore, released in 1990. It marked a substantial change in style for Moore, who, prior to this album, was predominantly known for rock and hard rock music with Skid Row, Thin Lizzy, G-Force, Greg Lake and during his own extensive solo career, as well as his jazz-fusion work with Colosseum II. As evidenced by its title, Still Got the Blues saw him delve into an electric blues style.

1990's Still Got The Blues album was an abrupt and risky game-changer that reignited the tradition of blistering British blues guitar. But the new album hadn’t done so well and Gary was tiring of the 1980s rock treadmill; the emphasis on soulless fret-melting guitar, big hair and looking serious in daft pop videos. He realised, too, that he was repeating himself as a songwriter. He needed to take some risks if he was to move on – but which way to turn? Sitting in the tune-up room loosening up before a gig in Germany with his long-time bass player Bob Daisley (ex-Rainbow and Ozzy Osbourne), the answer came. Chris, their mastering engineer, was one of their older guys there. He did various bits and pieces to it, then you play it in real time to master it onto vinyl. Probably Gary's most well known song 'Still Got The Blues' kicks in with his familar introductory guitar riff/solo. This is quite a slow affair, with Gary really pouring his heart into the vocals, whilst the guitar work is nothing short of amazing, and the piano and string section pack loads of sorrowful emotion into the song  . I haven't heard much of his music, this is his only full album i have listened, but i don't think he has done a better album. JamieTwort June 15th 2011.
