Shot in the Dark is the second studio album by the American hard rock band Great White, released in 1986. It was originally released by Telegraph Records and distributed by Greenworld Entertainment. The original issue featured a different intro to "She Shakes Me" (which was titled "Shake Me"), as well as different mix of the several tracks.

Great White is the first full-length album by the American rock band Great White. Three tracks are taken from the band's previous EP, albeit in re-recorded versions. The musical style of this album is very different from the following highly successful releases of Great White, as they display here a more hard-driving metal sound as opposed to their later, blues-infused rock sound. EMI America judged the album a disaster and Great White were dropped.

I think "Shot in the Dark" (from the title of their album) is even better. This song blew me away. It's awesome! This song should be just as popular as Ozzy's same title song "Shot in the Dark". Of course they are two very different songs. I heard the album in the late eighties and bought a cassette which I played over and over and over again until I wore it out. I next bought the LP which I listen to a lot when at home and is still in great condition. Because I like the album so much, I next bought this CD to carry around in my car and listen to over and over again. So if that doesn't convince anyone that I really enjoy SHOT IN THE DARK, I don't know what will. It's just great, GREAT WHITE.
