Rebel Music is a compilation album by Bob Marley & The Wailers released by Island Records in 1986. It consists of tracks drawn from such albums as Natty Dread, Rastaman Vibration, and Survival, as well as an exclusive remix of "Rebel Music (3 O'Clock Roadblock)" and the first album appearance of 1977 B Side "Roots"

It's just about recognizable beneath the ubiquitous pop arrangement, and hearing Bob Marley calling out the militant lyrics, "I'm a rebel, soul rebel" in this setting is so surreal, that fans barely knew whether to laugh or cry. Bob Marley and the Wailers were a Jamaican reggae and ska band created by Bob Marley, Peter Tosh and Bunny Wailer. The band formed when self-taught musician Hubert Winston McIntosh (Peter Tosh) met Neville Livingston (Bunny Wailer), and Robert Nesta Marley (Bob Marley) in 1963

Like Marley during his lifetime, the Bob Marley family dynasty has grown into a true reggae powerhouse on a global scale, through music, clothing & beyond. And the Bob Marley family is once again ruling reggae music on a global basis. First some history, because in this great future, you can’t forget your past, as Bob sang on ‘No Woman, No Cry’. Bob became the first third-world rock superstar and, after he died, remained an icon: his cheerful 70s dreadlocked rebel visage, shrouded in ganja smoke, sold millions of posters. Bob and Rita had three children: Cedella (born 1967), David Ziggy Marley (1968) and Stephen (1972). Bob also adopted Rita’s daughter from an earlier relationship, Sharon (born 1964). In 1979, the four siblings started a group, The Melody Makers, later known as Ziggy Marley And The Melody Makers, and released their debut single, ‘Children Playing In The Streets’, that year.
