Teddy Wilson probably had as varied a jazz career as any of his peers. A member of the seminal Benny Goodman small groups, leader of his own band (which frequently backed Billie Holiday), creator of a myriad of his own small groups, and jazz educator at the Julliard School of Music, his career was both long and extraordinarily productive. He puts on his solo hat for this album, in which he pays tribute to the one and only Fats Waller by playing nine of Waller's compositions and two of his own honoringWaller.
