The story of ‘The Beginning Of Doves’ is as fascinating as the music it contains and goes something like this. In 1966 Marc Bolan was a struggling unknown. With two flop singles to his name he decided it was time for a new manager. Two years later, with Marc now living as a tax exile in France, Track saw an opportunity and swiftly bunged out the album now retitled ‘The Beginning Of Doves’. But with Marc’s popularity on the wane, it sold relatively poorly, and soon became a collector’s item.

Rex were an English rock band, formed in 1967 by singer/songwriter and guitarist Marc Bolan. The T. Rex discography consists of four "Tyrannosaurus Rex" and eight "T. Rex" studio albums (one of which appeared with different names and tracklists in different territories), 22 compilation albums, seven live albums, two extended plays, six "Tyrannosaurus Rex" and 22 "T. Rex" singles. The group came to an end after Bolan's death in a car crash in September 1977.
