Artist on covers & labels: Desmond Dekker & The Aces Artist on spine: Desmond Dekker And The Aces. I'm a little embarrassed to admit this is the only 'proper' Desmond Dekker album I own (I have a couple collections and his album with The Specials), but for that it's a perfect little bundle of work. Featuring the opening title track, the classic 'Israelites,' as well as other top numbers like 'Rude Boy Train,' 'It Mek' and 'Nincompoop,' this album is largely material written by Dekker himself and producer Leslie Kong.
You and your mother think of nothing more than stealing my throne. You plague me. Return to the manse! -King Desmond to Zephiel. Desmond was the king of Bern during the time of Fire Emblem: The Blazing Blade and the father of Zephiel and Guinivere. Desmond was married to Hellene of Etruria, Zephiel's mother, but this marriage was forced on him for political reasons when he had wanted to marry an unnamed commoner who later became his mistress and Guinivere's mother.
William Desmond Taylor (born William Cunningham Deane-Tanner, 26 April 1872 – 1 February 1922) was an director and actor. A popular figure in the growing Hollywood motion picture colony of the 1910s and early 1920s, he directed 59 silent films between 1914 and 1922 and acted in 27 between 1913 and 1915.
Following hot on the heels of their Jamaican debut album, 1967's 007 (Shanty Town), Desmond Dekker & the Aces were ready for Action! the following year. Like its predecessor, Action! bundled up another slew of the quintet's recent hits, as did its successor, 1969's The Israelites. All were released only in Jamaica, and the fact that "007" reappeared on the Action! set tells you just how seriously producers took the album market on the island.
Shirt them a-tear up, trousers are gone I don't want to end up like Bonnie and Clyde Poor me, the Israelite. After a storm there must be a calm They catch me in the farm You sound your alarm Poor a-poor a-poor me, the Israelite. I said my wife and my kids, they are packed up and leave me Darling, she said, I was yours to be seen Poor me, Israelites. Aah. Look Me shirts them a-tear up, trousers are gone I don't want to end up like Bonnie and Clyde A-poor a-poor me, Israelites. After a storm there must be a calm They catch me in the farm You sound your alarm Poor me, Israelite A-poor a-poor a-poor me, Israelites.
