Echaskech are a British electronica, audio-visual act based in London. The band formed in 2004 and were originally a duo composed of Dom Hoare and Andy Gillham, who had previously worked together as a drum & bass DJ act touring with artists such as LTJ Bukem and Grooverider.

After the amazingly received debut album, Skechbook, in 2007, 2009 saw the release of Shatterproof, an album of bone shaking electronica and soothing synths. Shatterproof showcases their unique style in which melodic dance beats blend with a spectrum of flavours; warm chord progressions with filthy subs and heavy crunching beats, all strung together with a hypnotising clarity.

Echaskech ‎– Shatterproof. I simple can't look at the cover of this album, or hear its name spoken, without having a terrifying flashback to those dire, childishly un-profound samples. Avoid, unless you can't understand English since then the vocal clips will be merely meaningless rather than life-changingly bad. Reply Notify me Helpful.

Echaskech's second album sees the London-based duo explore a world shaped by The Future Sound of London's Lifeforms. Shatterproof is an enjoyable collection of synthetic sonics and treated beats which articulate a technologised future without quite managing to push the boundaries further than the already familiar. Shatterproof presents an enjoyable blend of tempos, from urgent to near ambient. Its themes of the virtual near-future and the post-human world remain relevant, but Echaskech's music feels oddly old-school for such a focus. This work is licensed under a Creative Commons Licence.

There are a few nice sounds in here but it can't escape sounding ten years after its time. I could almost deal with that, simply pretend it was released in 1999 and everything is fine. However, the record is made utterly contemptible by the cringe-shittingly bad vocal snippets. I simple can't look at the cover of this album, or hear its name spoken, without having a terrifying flashback to those dire, childishly un-profound samples.Avoid, unless you can't understand English since then the vocal clips will be merely meaningless rather than life-changingly bad.
