Plastic Beach is the third studio album by British virtual band Gorillaz, released 3 March 2010 on Parlophone and Virgin Records. Conceived from an unfinished Gorillaz project called Carousel, the album was recorded from June 2008 to November 2009 and produced primarily by group co-creator Damon Albarn. Plastic Love is a 1984 J-pop song performed by Japanese singer/songwriter Mariya Takeuchi (竹内 まりや). She and the song later became popular online when the song resurfaced on YouTube. The song originated from her comeback album VARIETY (cover below, left), released April 25th, 1984. It was one of her most successful albums in her career, reaching on the 1984 Oricon music chart in Japan.
