The Beatles at the Hollywood Bowl is a live album by the Beatles, released in May 1977, featuring songs compiled from performances at the Hollywood Bowl in August 1964 and August 1965.

The sound quality of the 1965 recordings was equally disappointing, however. The Beatles were among the few major recording artists of the 1960s not to have issued a live album. Consequently, among Beatles fans, pent-up demand for a concert album continued to build. The audio, while below professional release standards, was more than adequate for desperate hardcore fans and served for years as the standard recording of the summer 1964 tour.

The Beatles : Live at the Hollywood Bowl (August 23, 1964). See the SBFC blog for a description in French.

The record reached No. 2 on the . chart and No. 1 in the . but has been long out of print and was never reissued as part of the group's massive catalog overhaul on CD. On Sept. 9, a new set titled The Beatles: Live at the Hollywood Bowl will be released that includes that original album plus four previously unreleased cuts.

The Beatles Live at the Hollywood Bowl, a 1977 live album containing material from the Beatles' Hollywood Bowl concerts in Aug. 1964 and Aug. 1965, is coming back in an expanded release globally on Sept. 9 on CD and digital download for the first time, it was announced early today by the Beatles' Apple Corps' Ltd. and Universal Music Group.

Documenting The Beatles’ Hollywood Bowl concerts on tape was no easy feat, as producer Sir George Martin explained in his album notes for 1977’s The Beatles At The Hollywood Bowl: The chaos, I might almost say panic, that reigned at these concerts was unbelievable unless you were there. Only three track recording was possible; The Beatles had no ‘fold back’ speakers, so they could not hear what they were singing, and the eternal shriek from 17,000 healthy, young lungs made even a jet plane inaudible. While The Beatles: Live At The Hollywood Bowl references the long out of print 1977 album, it is an entirely new release, directly sourced from the original three track tapes of the concerts.
