Tapes 'n Tapes is an indie rock band from Minneapolis, Minnesota. Formed in the winter of 2003 at Carleton College, the band has released four albums. First came the self-released Tapes 'n Tapes EP in 2004, followed by the full-length release, The Loon, on Ibid Records in 2005. The band signed to XL Recordings and re-released The Loon on July 25, 2006.

Like Clap Your Hands Say Yeah before them, blogosphere darlings Tapes 'n Tapes have enlisted famed producer Dave Fridmann to helm their much-anticipated sophomore album. After hearing Walk It Off, though, I don't care to pursue it. Like Clap Your Hands Say Yeah, a band whose career appears equally shackled to the blogosphere's mercurial whims, it's tempting to romanticize TnT's rags-to-riches story. Yet on their follow-up Some Loud Thunder, CYHSY didn't just bristle in the limelight, they actively thumbed their nose at it with risky stylistic forays and stubborn hooks. That ending doesn't fit TnT follow-up Walk It Off, a blissfully directionless album guilty not of audacity but utter innocuity. Not shying from the CYHSY parallel,.

Includes "Parrot" printed insert with lyrics and download card for entire album in MP3 format. Recorded at Tarbox Studios, Cassadaga, Ny Mastered at Sterling Sound. Matrix, Runout (B Side Runout): XL-338-B-RE1 RJ STERLING.

Songs start at USD . 9. Walk It Off Tapes 'n Tapes.

Walk It Off. "Please retry". To say they bear their alt-rock influences like a badge is an understatement. From the feedback discharge that kicks off the opener "Le Ruse" through the insistent pace of the guitar opus "The Dirty Dirty," Walk It Off is a victorious romp through a rock and roll war zone: a crackling beat, knee-buckling riffs and a bass barrage. With his voice, singer Josh Grier serves as the catalyst on relentless rockers like "Demon Apple" and "Hang Them All," and the dark ballad "Lines.

Tapes 'n Tapes didn't change their approach radically for Walk It Off - their nasally vocals, angular guitars, and keyboard doodles are all in place - but that urgency is missing, and it makes a difference. The band worked with Dave Fridmann on this album, and while teaming a quintessential indie rock producer like him with a band of indie rock classicists like Tapes 'n Tapes might seem like a good idea on paper, it doesn't quite work

Walk It Off is the second album from the Minneapolis-based band Tapes 'n Tapes, released on 2 April 2008. While their previous album, The Loon, was produced by the band's bassist and producer, Eric Applewick, and was recorded in a friend's unfinished basement studio, Walk It Off was recorded by producer, David Fridmann at Tarbox Road Studio in Cassadaga, New York. The album has 12 tracks, although it was originally planned to have fifteen. The first single released  . In March 2007, Josh Grier announced that a variety of new untitled songs had been written after an extensive bout of touring that began in January 2007. In an interview with Billboard, Grier said the band would wait until their April tour before playing any new material to make sure the lyrics were written, so the songs wouldn't sound like ".

Tapes ‘n Tapes’ 2006 debut, The Loon, was met with a kind of begrudging appreciation. Josh Grier and his Minnesotan bandmates had sewed a patchwork of indie rock’s greatest moments: sly, angular guitars, abstractly emotional vocals, and frenetic hing. It was difficult to deny that Tapes ‘n Tapes’ breezy mastery of the indie canon produced an admirable, addicting batch of tunes, but the debt to Pavement, Pixies, Modest Mouse, and others was all too obvious  .

Album Walk It Off. Lines Lyrics. Talking about family Talking about trees Driving through the tracks and cones Brings a bitter boy to his knees. Wrap him up in coattails Water soaked in pine Each time we come back around He's wandering off and cluttering minds

Is the U on the D side the only indicator of this pressing?
It's so easy
One of my favorite "roll down the windows, crank the radio, and go for a long summer drive" albums.
