You Must Believe in Spring, recorded in 1977, was the first album published after the death of Bill Evans, in 1980. and then the verve of that solo. I was transfixed, and I wanted to be able to play it note for note. I was enjoying playing this track so much that one transcription led to another. Here are two photos from the Marian McPartland Centennial Concert last week at the Piedmont Piano Co. in Oakland, CA. It featured a wonderful all-female lineup of pianist Laura Klein, bassist Ruth Davies, drummer Kelly Fasman, and Marian's friend and musical collaborator, saxophonist Mary Fettig.
