Jose Roberto Pulido (born March 1, 1950), known as Roberto "El Primo" Pulido, is an American musician whose career spans five decades. Pulido has been recognized as a Tejano music pioneer for his introduction of the accordion and saxophone into his music which "helped bridged the traditional conjunto and the modern Tejano camps" in the mid-1970s. Pulido is the father of Tejano musicians Alma Pulido and Bobby Pulido.

A sminal force in the development of Tex-Mex music, Tejano star Roberto Pulido was born and raised in Edinburg, Texas: upon graduating from high school, he attended Pan Am University on a music scholarship, later moving into a teaching career while continuing to perform club dates on weekends. In 1974 Pulido formed his backing band Los Clasicos, honing a distrinctive and innovatinve sound fusing the traditional Tejano orquesta brass style with accordion-based Conjunto; quickly the group became a sensation, scoring a hit with the single "Copa Tras Copa.
