The second full-length release from Japanese house specialist DJ Makai, Stay True features what would become Makai's signature sound, straightforward house with only limited changes from a basic formula. The mix is consistent throughout Stay True, with the highs and lows coming from the guest vocalists instead. Samantha Nelson's delivery on the samba-inflected "Sunrise" makes for an interesting sound, as does the more standard work from Hiromi on "Like Clouds in the Sk. The album was the first for Makai to break Oricon's Top 100 on the album charts.
