That’ll Be The Day Lyrics. me cry You say you're going to leave, you know it's a lie Because that'll be the day when I die. Well, when Cupid shot his dart He shot it at your heart So if we ever part and I leave you You sit and hold me and you tell me boldly That someday, well I'll be blue. We were cutting ‘That’ll Be the Day’ just as a demo to send to New York, just to see if they liked the sound of the group - not for a master record. So we just went in and set up and sort of shucked through the song. That’ll Be The Day" Track Info. Written By Jerry Allison & Buddy Holly. Release Date November 1, 1957.

The tendency of most critics is to dismiss this album, comprised as it is of the songs from Holly's 1956 Nashville sessions, which yielded a somewhat too tentative, country-oriented sound that suited neither him nor the public. In actual fact, at least ten of the 11 songs on this LP (the one exception being the ballad "Girl on My Mind") have aged almost as well as anything that Holly ever recorded

Buddy Holly is a studio album by Buddy Holly. It was released by Coral Records on February 20, 1958. The album collects Holly's four hit singles released on the Coral label; "Words of Love", "Peggy Sue", "I'm Gonna Love You Too", and "Rave On!". The backing group was Buddy Holly's band, the Crickets. Some re-releases include the tracks from Holly's next single, "Early in the Morning" backed with "Now We're One", and "Take Your Time", the B-side of the single "Rave On".
