A Sparrow Falls is a 1977 novel by Wilbur Smith. It is one of the Courtney Novels and is set during and after World War One. It was the most popular of Smith's novels in the US to date although it still did not sell as well as in Europe and Africa. General Sean Courtney befriends a soldier Mark Anders, who falls for his daughter Storm.

Sparrow Falls is a six-piece post-punk rock band from Maastricht, the Netherlands. The band plays a unique blend of raw, honest punk rock and dramatic rock with a pinch of 80ties hard rock. Think Hot Water Music, The Gaslight Anthem and Foo Fighters. In 2011, much acclaimed debut album Tides was released. Together with this release, Sparrow Falls continued as a six-piece, with the arrival of keyboardist Stijn Bannier. The full-length launched the band in the Dutch music scene and was followed with an intensive touring period. The band toured the Netherlands, Belgium and Albania, was invited for the Dutch travelling festival PopRonde and won the Audience Award during the finals of Heineken’s Grote Prijs van Nederland, the biggest live competition of the Netherlands. For being from the Netherlands, Sparrow Falls have an interestingly Americana tilt to their Tides full-length. It's certainly not a dominant trait, however, and it merely just gives their occasionally wistful but usually rambunctious punk a fresh edge. They cull the vibe of stuff like Nothington, the Gaslight Anthem's Sink or Swim and American Steel circa Destroy Their Future, but imbue it with a scrappier, "whoa-oh" looseness that doesn't quite match the quality of those bands.
