You're Fired - Starts off with a high pitched noise that continually gets louder. It’s the longest song on the album, and gives you a good four and a half minutes of that genuine Strike Anywhere sound. 5/5. 6. Detonation – Excellent vocal intro. This is pretty much just a 3 minute long rush that isn’t exactly a GREAT song, but its still pretty amazing. Another song where you feel like singing along with some parts.

Strike Anywhere is an American punk rock band from Richmond, Virginia. Formed in 1999 after the demise of frontman Thomas Barnett's previous band, Inquisition, they took their name from the Inquisition song "Strike Anywhere". According to the liner notes for their album Change is a Sound, they support "the vegetarian lifestyle, the living wage movement and the fight against corporate globalization"  . Strike Anywhere in Barcelona in 2010.

But Strike Anywhere's first full length album, Change is a Sound, is actually not boring or preachy at all, despite its obvious self-righteous rage and political alliance to veganism. Sorry, I'm sort of fixated on the vegan thing. What about anorexic punk rock chicks? Aren't they just getting the easy way out?) So how did Strike Anywhere manage to make a record that both seethes with umbrage and hooks you in with melody and rhythm? Durned if I know, but they seem to be well read and intelligent boys, by the interviews. And they obviously don't think it's anti-punk to learn how to play, or even practice your instrument.

Change Is a Sound is a fine representation of an ever-evolving and always-updating underground scene, and this band has the potential to steal the hearts of kids who have in the past fallen for groups like Hot Water Music and their similar peers. There really is a lot to like about this record, and though it might be a bit tame compared to some of the other jacked-up hardcore acts out there, it is also noticeably more evolved.
