Merrilee Rush (born Merrilee Gunst January 26, 1944) is an American singer, best known for her recording of the song "Angel of the Morning", a Top 10 hit which earned her a Grammy nomination for female vocalist of the year in 1968. Rush was born in Seattle, Washington.

Her raucous show and dynamic presentation are a direct reflection of those influences. As countless groups and artists came and went, Merrilee endured. The literal millions who have seen her perform live stand witness to her stellar record of achievements, including the industry's highest honor: a Grammy nomination for Female Vocalist of the Year.

Although a classically trained pianist, Merrilee Rush's (vocals) greatest exposure came in the form of Angel of the Morning (1968). Previously, she had been in several American northwest R&B combos in the early-to-mid-'60s - including the Aztecs, Merrilee & Her Men, and a stint with Tiny Tony & the Statics. The effort consists mostly of lightweight pop with slight C&W and folk-rock nuances, although there are a few tunes that stand as powerfully as the affective Chip Taylor-inked "Angel of the Morning.
