Los Tigres del Norte (English: The Tigers of the North) are a Mexican norteño band from Mocorito, Sinaloa and based in San Jose, California, United States. The group was started by Jorge Hernández, his brothers, and his cousins. They then began recording after moving to San Jose, California in the late 1960s, when all the members were still in their teens.

MTV Unplugged: Los Tigres del Norte and Friends. MTV Unplugged: Los Tigres del Norte and Friends is a live album by Mexican recording artists Los Tigres del Norte. It was recorded before a live audience at the Hollywood Palladium in Los Angeles, California, on February 8, 2011 and released by Fonovisa Records on May 24, 2011. The album includes featured performances by Andrés Calamaro, Calle 13, Zack de la Rocha, Juanes, Paulina Rubio and Diego Torres.

The album continues Los Tigres’ heralded role as the leading voice of the immigrant community with 15 new songs that give life to the emotions of the ‘pueblo in the form of corridos, ballads, cumbias and rancheras. Shortly after the Spring 2006 release of Historias Que Contar, Los Tigres del Norte once again demonstrated their role as the leading voice of the pueblo by joining en masse with their community as the principal musical participants of the Great American Boycott’ (A Day Without Immigrants) rally in downtown Los Angeles.
