Paton and Bairnson reconvened in 2002, to re-record the original Pilot album Two's a Crowd. The subsequent issue was entitled Blue Yonder. In 2003 and 2006, the band co-wrote the Irish pop band Westlife's singles "Obvious" and "Amazing", which peaked at No. 3 and No. 4 respectively in the UK Singles Chart. Both were released as the third singles from their number one studio albums, Turnaround, and Face to Face. As they approached the 40th anniversary of Pilot's debut album, Paton, Bairnson, and Tosh reunited as Pilot

If true, that startling development took no one by surprise more than the bandmembers themselves, who re-recorded most of the songs for a 2002 comeback album titled Blue Yonder because Paton and Bairnson didn't think the original album would ever see the light of day again.

I just bought "Two's A Crowd" to complete my Pilot discography and was very pleased with what I heard. Even though "Morin Heights" still is my favourite album, I liked the shift to a softer sound in this album. David keeps delivering great bass lines and Ian's guitar is par for the course (as always). Great songwriting mixed with Alan Parsons production make this a great album by all standards.

Pilot - Two's A Crowd (1977). Posted By: Andi Deris. Date: 19 May 2015 21:18:36. Paton and Bairnson, now solely a duo, decided to collaborate with Alan Parsons one more time when it came to recording their last effort as Pilot, Two's a Crowd. The result was a highly-merited pop product, afar from the early chart oriented sound. Again recorded at Abbey Road Studios session musicians such as Trevor Spencer (drums), Henry Spinetti (drums) and keyboarder Steve Swindells. In fact, Two's a Crowd strongly reminds of some of APP's best moments (which would suit with rumors that Paton and Bairnson had a much greater impact on the compositions as they were officially.
