Pallas are a progressive rock band based in the United Kingdom. They were one of the bands at the vanguard of what was termed neo-progressive during progressive rock's second-wave revival in the early 1980s. Other major acts included Marillion, IQ, Twelfth Night, Pendragon, Quasar and Solstice). Beginning life in 1976 as 'Rainbow', they dropped the name after Ritchie Blackmore left Deep Purple and called his new band Rainbow.

To follow up "The Sentinel", PALLAS debut album on a major label and a classic album in the neo-progressive genre must have been quite a hard task. However they almost succeeded in the follow-up called "The Wedge" in 1985. Now this album has been re-released on the InsideOut label, including additional CD-ROM track and three tracks from the 1985 EP "The Knightmoves". The CD-ROM track is a live version of "Win or Lose". The sound is very 80's with similarities to MAGNUM, MARILLION, IQ and YES, with memorable choruses, good melodies and harmonies

Dance Through the Fire.

PALLAS is, after MARILLION, and along with IQ and PENDRAGON, one of the most important acts of the Eighties Progressive rebirth. This is an energetic and magnificent neo progressive band in the style of IQ/MARILLION but with more edge. Their music is centered on melodic hooks, loud sound and great voice. The Sentinel" brings a tint of pop in a still elaborate progressive spectrum. Scottish prog band PALLAS definitely have one of the longest gaps between albums on record
