Rabbi Shlomo Carlebach Sings. In the Palace of the King. A Kabbalistic Approach to Fixing the World. Ha Neshama Shel Shlomo.

Neshama Carlebach (born October 9, 1974 in New York) (Hebrew: נשמה קרליבך) is a teacher, entertainer, singer, and the protégé of her late father, Shlomo Carlebach. Her career as a recording artist and as an occasional essayist has reached interfaith communities and has addressed social issues in America, Israel and Jewish community spanning the world. While her spiritual origins were within the Orthodox Jewish community, she has also found a community in the Reform Jewish Movement and beyond.

Rabbi Shlomo Carlebach is considered by many to be the foremost Jewish religious songwriter of the 20th century. His singing career began in Greenwich Village, where he was a contemporary of Bob Dylan and Pete Seeger. Spanning, this 28-track compilation takes tracks from his early cantor years, preceding his two releases on Vanguard in the mid- 60s, as well as later periods up until his death in 1994. Long before Matisyahu made Orthodox Judaism hip, there was Shlomo Carlebach. This is a very enjoyable album that I have never seen before. Some of songs are on other compilations though.
