Background Music is the debut studio album by the American hardcore punk band Give Up the Ghost. Background Music was also reissued in 2011 through Deathwish Inc. in celebration of the band's reunion shows.

They blew me away last year with their self titled debut, but this cd really brought it all together. They just rip through four of their own new songs and a Trouble (RIP) cover in something like nine minutes. But if you see this 7 inch or Cd at any local store near you, pick it up. This is the finest hardcore band to come out of the woodwork in years, so give them support and a listen.

After the other American Nightmare threatened to file suit again, they changed their name to Give Up the Ghost (which was intended to be the name of their second album). American Nightmare's 2nd EP, featuring four listed songs (and a hidden cover of the Cro-Mag's "It's the Limit").
