Coney Island Baby is a 1975 solo studio album by Lou Reed, released in January by RCA Records. The album has been described by Anthony DeCurtis as perhaps the most romantic album of Reed’s career. Many of the album's songs were inspired by and dedicated to Reed's girlfriend and muse at the time, a trans woman named Rachel Humphreys. According to Aidan Levy, Coney Island Baby was "as much a love letter to Rachel as it was to the nostalgic Coney Island of the mind.

I am 65 years old and these lyrics have been driving me crazy. I had this album when I was in college during the early 1970’s. The melody line was just as I remembered it. Happily, Apple Music had this recording of Alan Hull. It was a great stoner album!! Reply.
