Don't Leave Me (Ne Me Quitte Pas)" is a song by Regina Spektor, from her 2012 album What We Saw from the Cheap Seats. It was released as the album's second single on March 26, 2012. The chord structure, melody, and lyrics are all completely different. Brel’s song was written in the key of A minor, in 3/4 time
Regina Spektor’s sixth studio album, What We Saw from the Cheap Seats once again showcases Spektor’s ability to tell stories and paint pictures through music. In one song, she imagines paintings coming to life and the subjects trying to escape, while another heart-rending ballad brings to life the ache of trying to move on from a previous lover.
Regina Spektor has come a mighty long way from the grotty East Village bars of the anti-folk scene at which she first started plying her hiccupping, jazz-garnished piano pop trade in at the start of the millennium. Yet even though her sixth album, ‘What We Saw From The Cheap Seats’, was recorded in the glossier surrounds of Los Angeles, on the cover she’s sporting a grandiose military-esque hat atop her ringlets, just like on her first major label record, 2004’s ‘Soviet Kitsch’.
What We Saw from the Cheap Seats. What We Saw from the Cheap Seats is the sixth studio album by American alternative singer-songwriter Regina Spektor. It was released on May 29, 2012.
Summary: The sixth studio album for singer-songwriter Regina Spektor was produced with Mike Elizondo and includes songs she had until now, only sung live. Genre(s): Folk, Pop/Rock, Adult Alternative Pop/Rock, Alternative/Indie Rock, Contemporary Singer/Songwriter, Alternative Singer/Songwriter, Anti-Folk. Even tighter and more flamboyant than 2009's Far, may be her best. 60. There is much here to be thankful for, but there is nothing as immediately thrilling as some of her past pop gems.

Regina Spektor is undoubtedly talented, and this album is no exception. From the baroque-feel of " Oh, Marcello " to the slowed down feelings of " How " and " Firewood ", Regina has managed to stay true to that unique sound that her fans have always loved. Her remake of " Ne Me Quitte Pas " gives it a bit more of an upbeat, happy feeling, without overshadowing or falling short of the original. Regina 's lyrics have always been of the interesting sort. Some make sense, and others are completely indecipherable. In " What We Saw From The Cheap Seats ", we are treated to that same blend of beautiful, creative, and (at times) enigmatic lyricism. This isn't to say that the lyrics are poor - It's quite the opposite. Regina 's word choice reflects her personality of fun, quirky, and creative.
This is the first single by Regina Spektor, taken from her sixth studio album, What We Saw from the Cheap Seats.
