As Dateline has previously reported, Megan’s mother, Kathy Jo Hutchcraft, discovered her daughter missing from her room around 11:00 . Kathy later found a note Megan reportedly left behind, telling her that she loved her, but she would never be happy at home. According to authorities, Megan withdrew money from a local bank while on her bicycle prior to her disappearance.

Wild left Missing Persons after this album, and was not replaced. Consequently, production reins for the third album were given to Bernard Edwards of proven hitmakers Chic; he had also recently produced The Power Station. Missing Persons now consisted of Dale Bozzio and t Billy Sherwood. Sherwood played all the instruments on the record, wrote most of the material, and produced; Bozzio sang, and also co-wrote two songs.
