Remorse explores the death of Eric Morse, a five-year-old thrown from the fourteenth floor window of a Chicago housing project by two other boys, ten and eleven years old, in October, 1994. The documentary was reported by LeAlan Jones and Lloyd Newman - both residents of the Ida B. Wells housing development, where the crime took place, and both sixteen years old. Remorse marks the return of Jones and Newman to NPR’s airwaves.

They were two 14 year old boys from Chicago’s South Side Housing projects. They captured life in and around the Chicago ghetto. With National Public Radio producer David Isay they put together two radio documentaries. Ghetto Life 101 was about the projects where they lived. Remorse: The 14 Stories of Eric Morse was an examination of the murder of a five-year-old who was dropped from the window of a building near LeAlan and Lloyd’s homes.
