Back Where I Belong is former Black Sabbath singer Tony Martin's first solo album. It was recorded after Martin was briefly replaced in Black Sabbath by Ronnie James Dio in the early nineties, and was released in 1992. When recording demos for the album, Martin played all the instruments himself; for the finished product, however, a variety of musicians were involved. On this album, the singer covered "Jerusalem", which originally appeared on Tyr, a Black Sabbath album on which Martin sang.

Very good solo album from Black Sabbath's singer Tony Martin. The style of music is light hard rock and you would listen to this album at one breath. Many famous musicians recorded their parties on this album - Brian May (Queen), Cozy Powell (Rainbow, Sabbath, Emerson, Lake and Powell), Neil Murray (Whitsnake, Sabbath), Geoff Nichols (Sabbath), Laurence Cottle (Alan Parsons Project). Impressive voice, impressive version of "Jerusalem" by Sabbath, impressive sound producing by Nick Tauber (Thin Lizzy, Marillion).

Tony Martin (Black Sabbath) recorded a solo album during his time in Sabbath, called "Back where I belong". The music is a bit softer than Black Sabbath's musical direction (but Martin is doing a version of the Sabbath song "Jerusalem"). I guess this was a way for Tony Martin to record his own material and even play guitar, and of course the voice is good! For a time I listened to this album a lot but as time goes on it might not be the best example of albums that stand the test of time

Album: Back Where I Belong (1992). Fast running river so deep and so cold. Screaming like thunder could take. But would it stop me loving you. Never thouhgt it would last forever. Or be over quite so soon. Caught alone in the dark night. Gotta get it back gotta get back to you.

Este disco tem a participação do guitarrista Brian May (Queen), na faixa If There is a Heaven. Martin regravou a faixa Jerusalem, originalmente lançada pelo Black Sabbath, no álbum "Tyr".
