The track’s rolling instrumental, all stormy keys and ‘80s synth-funk drums, is the latest bit of fine home-cooked r ’n’ b offered up by the Paul Institute. Ruthven’s aching vocals - there’s plenty of Sampha in his voice - more than match the beat for emotion. Around the 3-minute mark, label boss A. K.
