The Time of the Assassins is the debut album by The Strokes' bassist Nikolai Fraiture, released under the pseudonym Nickel Eye. It was released on Rykodisc on January 27, 2009. Two singles were released from the album: "Brandy of the Damned", backed with album track "Back from Exile", and "Dying Star", which was released for Record Store Day 2009 and featured a remix of "Brandy of the Damned" by English musician/producer Mark Ronson.

The Assassin is the debut studio album by American rapper Big Ed the Asssassin, who was then known as Big Ed. It was released on September 1, 1998 through No Limit Records and Priority Records. It was mostly produced by members of Beats By the Pound, with one track produced by former 2 Live Crew member, Mr. Mixx (I'm Yo Soldier) and one track produced by Les G (My Entourage).

The album’s subtle tale is made all the more Fraiture’s because of how it’s set about musically: taking up an acoustic setting lends the quirks of the album a hand in Back From Exile, a casual cliché of strumming. His over-confidence gets the better of him in his dinky little backdrop, and his cry of Hello mother ers, cause I’m back from exile creates the exact aesthetics he wants – sing along sleaze! The acoustic guitar is utilised to give the album a great visual quality – that of his anonymous, wandering story - and it works in softer tones elsewhere. Dying Star should have been the sprawling centre to The Time Of The Assassins, rolling his 70s inspired chronicles into one package. It’s the loudest and boldest, but his voice is lost and nonchalant – at this point he’s probably given up on his spooky story, anyway. In many ways, it’s easy to write off Fraiture’s cosy ideas as if built on sham alone.
